Our custom engraving process means that we can craft a house plaque that will truly speak to your personality and preferred style. 

We have four key types of house plaques: Natural sandstone, black granite with Gold Leaf, glass, and marine grade stainless steel. With all of these, you can customise the included wording, whether it’s an affectionate name you’ve given your home or you want to note your family or property name. 

They can be similarly customised for business or commercial property names or even directional signage. They even make a great gift for Dad’s shed, grandpa’s workshop, Mum’s She-Shed or home-based business. They’re also a great house warming gift by simply using our gift certificate service.

Here’s a simple breakdown of the different materials we suggest depending on the type of home or building you have:

• Natural sandstone: Natural sandstone house plaques, with their earthy tones and textured feel, match well with many types of homes, such as Victorian-style, Queenslanders, federation homes, etc, as well as more modern stylings. They can also complement a range of beachside and coastal home situations, matching the similar tones of the sandy beaches and wind swept coastal positions.
• Black granite: The highly polished black granite house plaque also features a genuine gold leaf, which results in an “old world” look. It complements a number of traditional building styles and can be a particularly good choice for business name signage.
• Glass: Our glass house plaques offer a striking visual style, with deeply engraved lettering that’s finished in silver. It results in eye-catching contrast in various lighting conditions and can look particularly stunning when lit up, making it a popular choice with contemporary and modern buildings.
• Stainless steel: The sleek, durable design of our Marine-grade stainless steel house plaques make them well-suited for modern architectural styles, general signage, and business name signage. Different sizes and mounting options make them a versatile choice.

With Australia’s hotter, damaging UV sunlight, it’s important to make use of house plaques that have the materials to withstand prolonged exposure to heat and harsh UV sunlight. Both sandstone and granite are great ever-lasting materials perfect for standing up to rainfall and varying humidity.

Printed and resin plaques, available online and in the big box hardware stores by comparison, can be more easily damaged by Australia's harsh  climate, resulting in warping, discolouration, and brittleness. While measures like UV stabilisation attempt to reduce these effects, ultimately printed, acrylic, perspex or resin house plaques will struggle to withstand these conditions in the longer term. 

Others address plaques typically have a preset design with minimal customisation options. At most you may be able to request certain words, which will be simply printed onto the plaque. While standard address plaques can be cost-effective and faster, production wise, this also often comes at the cost of material quality and sacrifices a sense of bespoke individuality.

Every order will receive a detailed artwork proof for you to approve prior to us scheduling the engraving. 

Once you have approved the artwork proof we send you, your order will be dispatched within 21 working days. If you require it sooner than this you can upgrade to our express production service. This will see your order dispatched from our workshop within 10 working days from the date you approve the artwork.
